Workplace Violence Prevention eLearning

Project Overview
Project Description:
The Department of Health & Safety was facing a monumental challenge: training over 1,000 staff members on critical compliance topics, including Workplace Violence Prevention, within a single year to meet state requirements.

With the clock ticking, I stepped in and began meeting regularly with subject matter experts to gather resources, understand the materials, and gain insights into the diverse work environments of the staff. Following a thorough needs analysis, stakeholders agreed that an eLearning mode of delivery was the best approach.
Armed with an 80-slide PowerPoint deck and three official health and safety policies, my team and I set to work. I transformed this wealth of information into an engaging and effective eLearning module. Our efforts paid off, with the training consistently achieving over 75% learning gains each year, turning a daunting task into a resounding success.

VA Grant Per Diem (GPD) Invoice Processes eLearning

Project Overview
Project Description: The client, a local government agency, expressed a critical need to train their back-office staff about proper invoicing and funding practices. They were at high risk of an audit due to incorrect appropriation of funds and incorrect allocation methodology usage. I applied needs analysis strategies to learn that the back-office staff did not have a good understanding of how to allocate the Veteran's Affairs funding versus the local government's funding. The learners also expressed that they had difficulty recalling where to access the resources developed by agency to support their invoicing process.
While the location of the learners was central, the client expressed that they could not afford to pull the learners away from their daily duties for a traditional, hours-long training. They also expressed that the product was needed in a short amount of time. So, I turned to Articulate Rise for a rapid-development process. I was happy to report a 30% learning gain once learners completed this training cycle. Additionally, I created a desk guide that learners may download and leverage when it comes time to complete their budgeting responsibilities.

Allocation Methodology eLearning

Project Overview
Project Description:
In the heart of New York City, a local government agency was entangled in a web of chronic budgeting and funding allocation errors. They turned to us for a solution. After a detailed needs analysis, I proposed an innovative, immersive training program.
This program would allow staff to practice calculating funding allocations using the correct methodology, but given the scattered nature of the budget and finance teams across the boroughs, an eLearning module was the ideal format.

Collaborating closely with my direct report, we designed and developed a comprehensive module that explained the allocation methodology calculation and invoice creation process. We included realistic practice scenarios and methods to gather learning gains data. As the module rolled out, the staff began mastering the calculations, and the persistent errors started to disappear, turning a complex challenge into a success story.
